Troy Genealogical Society Meet at Tri-Township Library in Troy, IL

The Troy Genealogical Society meets at 7:00 pm on the First Wednesday of each month (except June and December) in the History/Genealogy Room in the lower level of the library. There is an annual membership fee. Visitors are always welcome.

The Society has a collection of books, quarterlies, magazines, CDs, and reference materials stored in the History/Genealogy Room. A computer, printer, scanner and copier are available.

Our Society is currently working on the database update for revision to the Troy City Cemetery burials. A database containing information from funeral cards of individuals who passed away locally is in progress. Other projects include a database for birth records from City Records, copying obituaries from back issues of the local paper and information on Revolutionary War and Civil War Veterans who are buried locally.

The Troy Genealogical Society has been responsible for all recent improvements within the Troy City Cemetery, with the exception of the sign designating its name and row markers. These were provided by the Troy Historical Society. Our Society placed the row markers. We also obtained money to purchase new, small granite markers for unreadable gravestones and new foundations for some that were ready to fall down.
