What's Happening At The Library

 

Need Help With Taxes?

Tax Aide will be here to help.

The library will once again be hosting the AARP Tax-Aide Program. Since 1968, this volunteer-based program has helped millions of people file their taxes...for free! The program begins Feb 3rd and continues until April 15th. Representatives will available to assist with tax forms on Wednesdays and Fridays. Appointments are available from 9a.m. to 1:30p.m. You can walk, in but there is no guarantee you can be seen. It is best to call ahead and make an appointment. You can sign up for appointments starting January 11th. Tax-Aide will not be available on Book Sale Fridays (First Friday each month) or Good Friday March 25th.

Let's Play!

Let's Play. Saturday, February 27th. Join us for a fun evening watching the "2 for 2" musical comedy performance at the Alfresco Center in Granite City. The group will leave the library parking lot at 5p.m. Tickets are $15.00. Purchase your tickets at the library. Cash or check only. Call 618-667-2133 for more information.

 

Adult Color Therapy Party

Tuesday, February 16th from 6:30 to 8:00p.m. Join us in experiencing the new national trend. We'll provide the coloring sheets and colored pencils.

ABC MOUSE EDUCATIONAL (FUN) SOFTWARE!

Free to use in our computer lab. Exercise Club - Pilates every Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is also a class most Saturdays from 10 to 11a.m. The Saturday type of exercise varies. There is no class on the third Saturday of the month due to the book sale.  Check calendar for actual dates.

Book Sale. The Friends of the library have a book sale on the first Friday and the third Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Notary Service. The library has three staff members who are licensed notaries. Service is normally available when the library is open for a $1.00 fee; but please call ahead to ensure one of our notaries will be available when you come.

Library Board Meeting. The library Board of Trustees meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm (unless noted otherwise). The public is encouraged to attend as plans for the future of the library are discussed.

Election Information.  Registrars are normally available at the library Monday through Thursday 9-8, Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-4; except for 27 days prior to any election. To register, a person must show two types of identification: one must have the current address, and one must be a photo I.D. It is also required to use the social security number (at least the last four digits) or the drivers license number. Genealogical Society Meeting
. 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm (
