Dawn Henry

Trustee- 6 Year Trustee Term
(Ending 2029)

Dawn Henry, Trustee of Troy Library

Dawn Henry is a newer resident of Troy having moved here in the beginning of 2019 with her husband and son. She is a graduate of SIUE with a B.S. in History. She has always been an avid reader and lover of libraries. She has worked at a few of the libraries in our system, so she comes to the board with patron/employee insight and experience.

Her family immediately fell in love with the sense of community here. Dawn has taken an active roll in helping the community by becoming an election judge and substitute teacher for the district during the pandemic. She plans to continue with helping people vote at the polls. Along with her husband, they have coached soccer at the park for 3 years and love seeing the kids learn new skills and gain confidence. Serving as a Trustee of the Tri-Township Library Board is another step in serving her community. She will come to the position with an open mind and eagerness to examine issues from all sides before making decisions. Dawn truly believes that if every person read more books, the world would be a better place. She hopes to inspire and encourage readers and nonreaders of all ages to get out there and read something new.

Her favorite genres to read are narrative nonfiction, historical nonfiction, and non romance historical fiction. A good biography or memoir is also a favorite.
